Riposte reads the post, drafts three replies in your own voice, and refuses the twelve things that make AI writing obvious. You pick one and press send.

candidate ready

Nine of the twelve are checkable from the text alone. no-restatement, prefer-concrete and shorter-over-padded need the post being answered, so the extension applies those and this does not.

    the ruleset

Twelve things it will not write, whatever you ask.

The same list governs every draft, and it is readable in full. Four of the twelve are below; the checker at the top of this page runs nine of them against anything you paste.

    no-empty-opener
    No This. Absolutely. Great point.
    no-restatement
The author knows what they wrote. It is directly above your reply.
    no-engagement-bait
No question tacked on the end. No Thoughts?
    no-em-dash
The most reliable tell in generated prose.

And eight more, in the file that actually runs.

    seven reply angles

One post. Seven genuinely different answers.

Every draft is matched to your voice from your own past posts. Pick an angle, or type a steer in plain language and redraft. Original posts get their own six angles and their own ban list.

Say it the way you would say it out loud. The angle that reads least like writing.

yeah the build being easy is exactly what made distribution hard. when it took a year, shipping was the filter. now nothing filters and everyone is shouting.

    the review queue

Finding posts worth answering costs more than answering them.

Leave a feed open and Riposte collects what scrolls past. One batched call triages the whole pool, drafts for the few that survive, and queues them with the reason each was picked.

    01 / COLLECT

    Watch the feed

Posts that scroll past are stored locally. No request leaves the browser during collection.

    02 / TRIAGE

    One batched call

Skips agreement-only posts, engagement bait, anything outside what you actually know, and threads already buried.

    ~1 draft per 100 candidates
    03 / DECIDE

    You press send

Read the batch, bin or open. Opening loads the draft into X's own reply box. You press Reply.

    constraints

What it refuses to do is the feature.

    never posts for you

No autonomous mode, no batch send. Every reply is one a person read and chose. Anything else is spam wearing a nicer prompt.

    no servers, no telemetry

No backend, no account, no analytics. Your key and writing samples stay in your browser profile. Post text goes to Anthropic and nowhere else.

    your API key, no subscription

You pay Anthropic directly for what you use, and nothing to anyone else. Drag the slider to see what your usage would actually cost.

    the whole prompt is readable

MIT licensed and public. The ruleset above is not marketing copy, it is the file that runs. Fork it and disagree with it.

    10

Estimated from typical draft sizes at published Anthropic rates, three drafts per reply. Your real bill depends on post length and whether web search is on. There is no Riposte subscription on top.

    install

Two ways in. Both take a minute.

Chrome does not let any website install an extension directly, so both routes end at Load unpacked. That changes when this is listed on the Chrome Web Store.

    for everyone

    Download the build

    1. 01 Download the zip and unzip it.
    2. 02 Open chrome://extensions and turn on Developer mode.
    3. 03 Click Load unpacked and pick the unzipped folder.
    Download v0.1.0
    for developers

    Build from source

$ git clone https://github.com/generalizingai/riposte.git $ cd riposte $ npm install $ npm run build

Then Load unpacked and pick dist. Pull and rebuild to upgrade.

    Read the source

Either way, the options page opens on first install. Paste your Anthropic API key, press Test, then paste 15 to 30 of your own posts so it can match your voice.
